Product Overview

The 16 Slice Global Data Acquisition System (GDAS) Converter Card is used in CT scanners and other medical systems. It is a printed circuit board which processes low level current signals from 128 channels of CT X-ray detector photodiode and convert them into 128 voltage/charge signals. This circuit board is comprised of a 2 GDAS ASICs, 32-bit floating point DSP, 100uA bias current circuit for the GDAS ASICs, GDAS ASIC Bridge (GAB) FPGA, CAN Transceiver, I2C serial digital output temperature sensor, bootable 16 Mbit flash memory, 128 Mbit SDRAM ICs, regulators, local ferrite beads, and digital I/O circuitry. The signal from detector output is amplified by the GDAS ASIC. The flash memory holds the necessary ASICs input offset voltage trim values, firmware version, date, time, vector table, checksum, FPGA configuration file and the converter board serial number. The on board temperature sensor (U5) monitors the board ambient temperature to ensure that the board is operating in its proper temperature range. The converter board shall not constitute a safety hazard to personnel using or maintaining the CT equipment. The product is securely packaged inside a high quality packing box to avoid physical damage during transit.
