Product Overview
The Fuse comes as a part the radiography systems. They are used to for imaging method diagnosis using X-Rays. The systems work on the principle where high velocity electrons, when interacted with the patient’s body, their kinetic energy is converted into electromagnetic radiation (X-Rays). A detector that is in line with the source of rays, detects them and measures their properties. A device, collimator, is provided to narrow the rays such that a parallel beam of rays is created which are aligned in a direction. In other words, it filters the rays. A fuse is provided to provide protection to the radio frequency (RF) amplifier in case of overcurrent. The thin filament in a fuse heat up and melts or burns in case of excess current. Thus fuse stops the power supply by breaking the circuit, thus preventing a permanent damage to the unit. It is highly essential since any damage during functioning causes damage to the radiography system, thus, endangering the patient's safety.
