Product Overview
The Aespire anesthesia delivery system has a Diaphragm as a part of APL (Adjustable Pressure Limiting) valve assembly to regulate pressure in the breathing circuit. The APL valve adjusts the breathing system pressure limit during manual ventilation. The pressure relief valve assembly provides accurate pressuring while ventilating a patient with the use of diaphragm, which acts as a pneumatic actuator. The amount of pressure buildup in the bellows should be limited and also gases are to be released for scavenging. For adjusting these pressure limits, a diaphragm is used in Breathing Circuit Gas (BCG) module of anesthesia machines. This diaphragm is made of Silastic® bio-medical grade ETR (Enhanced Tear Resistance) elastomer, which is a composition of dimethyl, methylvinyl, siloxane copolymers and reinforcing silica. This offers excellent flexibility and a range of hardness from soft to firm.
