Product Overview
The O-ring is the most common type of seal used in a wide range of static or dynamic applications. O-rings are seated in a groove and compressed between two or more parts thereby creating a seal at the interface. They are used as washers in medical equipment. An O-ring is generally made of rubber due to the characteristic that it returns to its original shape on compression. Ethylene propylene rubber is a type of synthetic elastomer that is closely related to EPDM rubber. This O-ring is made up of a highly abrasive resistant and flexible Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) material. It acts as an excellent leak barrier for medical equipment applications. These O-rings are used in Aespire gas scavenging systems and needle valves to eliminating leakage of gases. Scavenging is the collection and removal of vented anesthetic gases from the OR. Since the amount of anesthetic gas supplied usually far exceeds the amount necessary for the patient, OR pollution is decreased by scavenging. If a fresh gas flow-sized volume enters the breathing circuit each minute, the same flow must leave it, or barotrauma will result. Scavenger and operating room ventilation efficiency are the two most important factors in reduction of Waste Anesthetic Gases (WAGs). The O-rings are used in Aespire gas scavenging systems and needle valves to eliminating leakage of gases.
